Gout Study

This clinical research study is testing an investigational medication in adults ages 18-75 years of age who have high uric acid associated with gout flares or tophi (masses of white growths around the joints and other tissue) gout. You may be eligible to participate in this study if you or someone you know:
- Is 18 to 75 years of age,
- Has had a diagnosis of gout for at least 1 year,
- Had at least 2 gout flare ups in the last 12 months,
- Has a body mass index (BMI) of 18.5 or above,
- Has a body weight of 110 lbs or above.
Researchers are Studying an Investigational Medication to Better Understand:
- How it may affect uric acid levels
- Its safety profile compared to existing treatments
- Whether it may help manage gout symptoms
- You may help researchers learn more about the investigational medication and treating high cholesterol.
How do I know if I am eligible for this study?
You may be able to take part in this study if you are at least 18 years of age, are taking allopurinol and have been diagnosed with gout.
You must continue taking your gout medication. During the study the medicine being researched will be available to you at no cost. There are additional requirements that must be met in order to take part in this study.
