Medisphere Medical Research Center

Linda D.

Position: Patient Representative / Backup Scheduler

Professional Experience: I worked at Covance for 15 years as the Dietary Manager. I would still be there if they would not have closed the Evansville location. I was awarded the Covance Way Award, which is given to 1% of employees nationwide each year, for outstanding achievement.

What Inspired You to do What You Are Doing Now (career wise): I wanted to challenge myself. I’m not that much of a people person, so I wanted to challenge myself to step up and talk to people on the phone and see how many people I could get screened for studies. I find it to be very rewarding. I also like to challenge myself with the number of people I can get screened for each study. I like to set goals for myself and challenge others to meet those goals as well.

What Do You Like to do in Your Spare Time:  I like to help veterans. They put their lives on the line for us, so I feel it’s the least I can do is to show my appreciation for their sacrifice for all that they went through. I help with the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana when they fly veterans to Washington DC. I have a 501c3 that I send care packages to Troops overseas. I donate all the items that I send, and/or get donations from others to help me, and then fundraise for the postage. My husband and I will BBQ meat and have a meat fundraiser for veterans or poor people struggling to help them get back on their feet. I also foster dogs and cats through Another Chance for Animals. I go to our office every day and clean all the cat cages and feed and water all the cats there. On Tuesdays & Wednesdays, I go to Petsmart and clean the cat cages there during my lunch hour. I help get animals adopted every other Saturday at Petsmart. I also enjoy watching my grandchildren at their sporting events.
